White is another colour that emerged as a trend at Chelsea. It can be a subtle theme in the Unique Urban garden a Romantic interpretation (see Romantic..)features white foxgloves and a variegated hosta surrounding a ceramic statue of a young girl that sits under a silver pear.
At the Horticulture Center of the Pacific Serenity is evoked by a simple clump of native white erythroniums on a carpet of moss, (see native plant trend).
At Government House nestled among the ferns and fresh young hosta foliage there is the white of bergenia cordifolia ‘Bressingham White'combining with the white and green bi-colour tulip ‘Spring Green'. Nearby, carrying on the white and green theme is a stand of Variegated Solomon's Seal Polygonatum, the white bleeding heart (DICENTRA spectablis 'Alba') and the Fringed Bleeding heart with white blooms Dicentra exemia ‘Alba'. B leeding heart-is another classic plant that was featured at Chelsea . Earlier in the season there are small white violets.
